VALENTINA MIKRUT

Valentina was born in Stockholm and spent a portion of her life growing up in Australia and northern Italy, and spent the most recent years living in New York City, San Francisco and Paris. As a fashion designer, her work is inspired by different places and times, how we exist, how we adapt, how we don't conform. Her work has explored different physical and conceptual relations to the body, memories through senses, and how we consciously and subconsciously exist. Besides being constantly inspired by the process of research, her work is heavily driven by material exploration, construction, functionality and people, while maintaining an innovative sustainable approach. She is always looking for a new perspective and approach to things. Her process is her work. She aims for her creations to completely encompass the essence of her process, ideas and vision in a way that feels innovative, essential and empowering.
